This year, the Parish of the Holy Virgin Protection Russian Orthodox Church held its annual Maslenitsa Banquet at the Consulate of the Russian Federation in New York City.

The evening was a smashing success! This was due to many critical factors. First  of which was the support the Committee received from : Mr. Sergey I. Kislyak, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the United States; Mr. Andrey K. Yushmanov, Consul General of the Russian Federation in New York; Mr. Sergey Logachev, Deputy Consul General of the Russian Federation in New York and Mr. Alexander A. Kalachev, Vice Consul and his Staff. On behalf of the Parish, we thank you for your great help in making this a success!

Secondly was the assistance, blessing and recommendation for the event expressed by His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia and ArchBishop Justinian of Naro-Tominsk, Hierarch of the Moscow Patriarchate Russian Orthodox Church in America.

The guests that came was the third factor the evening's success and  last but not least, the tireless efforts of  the committee, especially Mrs. Marie Zaporoshan, made this event the best ever!

The Parish school will benefit due to your participation, donation and contribution-Thank you!

Enjoy the slide show included below. Judging by the photos, most of us had a memorable time! Hope to see you next year on February 11, 2012!
